====== Read out the MAC address of Polar chest straps (and other BLE devices) ====== Document ID: 1646425738 ---- Change Description: ---- Reference Documents: ---- Person in Charge: Felix Koneberg ---- Reviewer: ---- ===== Requirements ===== * Download and install the nRF Connect App for Android (iOS cannot read out MAC addresses) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nordicsemi.android.mcp&hl=de&gl=US ===== Steps ===== * Keep the Polar device next to you. **Note**: Better put other Polar devices further away from you to avoid confusion with an unintentionally activated other Polar device. * Open the app and tap on “no filter” so that you can filter out unwanted devices {{ :public:polar_mac_01_filter.png?400 |}} * Adjust the RSSI Threshold further to the left * confirm with the tick symbol {{ :public:polar_mac_02_filter.png?400 |}} * press "scan" on the top of the app * Then keep the Polar device close to the phone and activate it by rubbing the area on the inside of the Polar (A) with slightly wet fingers: {{ :public:polar_mac_04_strap.png?400 |}} * Once the device turns on, you should see it in the scan list with its MAC address (here F0:BA:E4:78:EE:5F). {{ :public:polar_mac_03_scan.png?400 |}} **Note**: * In the screenshot below, instead of “two” you the name should be “Polar” or whatever device you are looking for. * If you wait too long, you have to press the “scan” button again. * Since there is no off button on the Polar devices, bring the current Polar device out of range if you want to read out another one to avoid confusion.
